Dr. Hamid Reza Marateb

Hamid R. Marateb (Senior Member, IEEE; Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA) member; Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation GBD collaborator) received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Science and Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2000 and 2003, respectively. He obtained his Ph.D. and post-doctoral fellowship from the Laboratory of Engineering of Neuromuscular Systems at Politecnico di Torino, Turin, Italy, in 2011 and 2012, respectively. Dr. Marateb was a visiting researcher at Stanford University in 2009 and Aalborg University in 2010, as well as a visiting professor at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona, in 2012, 2017, and 2020. His research focuses on Cognitive Informatics in Health and Biomedicine, primarily emphasizing Clinical Neurophysiology, Computational Neurosciences, and Medical Data Mining. As a reviewer for over 50 international ISI journals, Dr. Marateb now serves on the editorial boards of PLOS One, Frontiers in Integrative Physiology, Frontiers in Cognitive Neuroscience, and as a Guest Editor in Diagnostics and Frontiers in Human Neuroscience. He has received various European Union/Spanish grants. Dr. Marateb co-founded the Regenerative Medicine Research Center at IUMS and is a member of the BIOsignal Analysis for Rehabilitation and Therapy Research Group (BIOART) at UPC, Barcelona. He also works as an AI and Digital Health Consultant at Poursina Hakim Digestive Disease Research Center in Isfahan. Currently, he holds positions at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Isfahan, Iran, and the Department of Automatic Control, Biomedical Engineering Research Center, UPC, Barcelona, Spain.
